Local MSP Craig Hoy has recently completed a successful round of pop-up surgeries across the Scottish Borders.
Mr Hoy met with many residents and spoke with them about issues that matter to them across areas which included Galashiels, Melrose, Earlston and Lauder
Speaking after the pop-up street surgery events, Mr Hoy said: “I was pleased to meet with residents in the Borders and listen to their concerns. Constituents raised a variety of casework issues, including assisted dying, landlords and tenants’ rights and assistance for disabled children. My surgeries are valuable because they allow me to get out into local communities to make sure I am representing them as fully as possible in parliament and beyond. I will continue my pop-up surgeries into the winter months and look forward to speaking to many more residents.”
Mr Hoy heard of national issues such as the damaging Family Farm Tax but also issues affecting Scotland, such as the housing bill.
He added: “Constituents remain very concerned about a number of issues in our communities, and both the Labour UK Government and the SNP Government in Edinburgh must respond to these concerns.”
Mr Hoy will shortly hold a similar number of surgeries in the Tweeddale area where he looks forward to speaking with local residents.
