Some exciting news for residents and businesses in North Berwick — the town’s new banking hub will open in a temporary home while work continues to secure its permanent site.
From Thursday 12 September 2025, the hub will operate from the former Bank of Scotland building at 23 West Gate, North Berwick (EH39 4AG). It will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, offering all banking services that will be available once the permanent hub is established.
Cash services will be available five days a week at the counter. More complex banking needs can be handled face to face with a rotating community banker from four major banks:
- Monday: Royal Bank of Scotland
- Tuesday: Barclays
- Wednesday: Santander
- Thursday: Bank of Scotland
- Friday: No community banker available
This is a vital step to maintain access to cash and in-person banking services in the town. I know rom other examples banking hubs are an asset to towns so I welcome this temporary hub.
Please share this post ahead of its opening and make use of the facility once it’s up and running.
